I didn't get out ice fishing last year and did kinda miss it. Well John and some friends invited me up to Alexandria to drowned some minnows. They had never fished this lake for walleyes in the winter before, but what the heck, they decided to give it a shot.We drove up Friday and attempted to put two portables up. The wind was so bad, they kept blowing over and with a wind chill far below zero, we were forced to head to shore without putting a line down. I think that's when John reminded me of something my dad always said, "And the women think we're having fun"!
We did fish all day Saturday and some walleyes did move in right before sundown, We caught 7 and kept 3.
Though I had fresh walleye for dinner tonight, what I really enjoyed was in hanging out with John and some great guys. Oh, and dad, we did have fun.....
